Default Classic Threads

I've been lurking back on the board for a short while now after being away for several years. It's interesting how many of the topics that are posted are identical to threads from all those years ago.
It made me search to see whether some of the threads I'd started (and there were plenty of them!) from those days were still available, and they were.
For those of you that were around back then, these should bring back a few memories.
For those of you that weren't and don't know me, they'll give you a great insight into how Scoobynet used to be (I'm sure it still is), and what a great community it developed. I was an active member who loved the track, especially Donno and The Ring. I also used to organise the SIDC track days and be a general loon.
So sit down, get a coffee, and relive the good old days....

LOL!! The classic if ever there was one! This is the thread that got the Scoob vs Cossie banter really going. One od the best 'banter' threads. Check out post #203 on page 11 and #244 on page 13 for a couple of posts that sum the thread up. At the time it was the longest thread on the board. There's a lot of poo in there, but it's funny poo!

The Best Upgrade You Can Buy Is......
On a more serious note, my car was often used to showcase mew mods (anyone remember that awesome Safety Devices Cage?) and test new gear. I started this thread after testing a new AP Racing kit at Donington. At the time the Brembo setup was the only real upgrade available. I don't know how the current brakes perform on track, but the classic's standard setup was awful! A good read if you go on track.

Can any of the old boys think of some others?

I can think of a few, but would never publicly admit to my involvement considering my "official" status now!!!

Regards,
Shaun.

Quite amusing some of that, people talking about parts not being available and such like (Grey day's).

And not enough Scoobs attending, oh how the tables have turned

The Jap scene now, considering we are only talking six years ago,
is simply massive.

I can remember my mate buying his first Scoob, a UK spec 2000 my97 and paying 16k for it, ouch !!!!!

Of course, there aren't any grey imports as such these days are there? Besides Litcho and the like that is. I can remember some of the hassle STi owners used to have with their cars back then. I was glad I had a UK car!
Having not been around for a few years, I haven't really seen how the Jap Car scene has developed. It was certainly growing at a ridiculous rate when I was involved. Meets like TRAX and Jap Performance were always a good laugh. Does TRAX still take place? Is there still an SIDC? Is the earth really round?

Shaun.
I still find it hard to believe you actually switched. Especially after all the s**t you used to give us!!!!
Have you still got the Escort as well? What Scoob you got?
