Question Who can beat an astra?

I dont normally do this but IV had enuf.
A guy in my local club has a quick astra but is behaving like a child, and abuseing everybody ealse in plymouth, esp sccobs. I have ignored it so far but....
Does anybody in Plymouth or close to it have a car that has done quicker than a 12.5 quatermile with a terminal of 121mph?

I no this is childish n im only goning to post once! if i hav proper amo!

I no that a lot of people like to keep thier figures to themselfs and not bost, but jus this once to help me out? No names shall be mentioned, no details, jus that there is a quicker scoob then his astra.

I you think this is childish, then Im sorry, but if you think so please do not post.

There are many scoobys on here that would beat it! cant be bothered to list because there are loads...

Must have alot of bhp to set that time, especially as its FWD aswell.

But as said, who cares, its an astra!

Mate,

I'm from Plymouth and know the car in question. PM me and I'll tell you what a local rally champion and WRC co-pilot feels about the, errrr.... car. Providing you're discreet I should be able to provide you with enough amo to encourage astra boy to wind his neck in. You may wish to start by asking how he intends to go round those peskie corners

Cheers

J

P.S. Me and said rally driver / retailer are organising a club which will bring the the local scoob, skyline and evo drivers together for weekly skirmishes across Dartmoor . Invite him along....he'd be very welcome

He's spent all that money to do a 12.5.
My scoob has only had mild mods and it does it in 12.5

The Astra in question in a straight line is VERY quick. IMO it should be. Basic engineering says if you put a quick engine into a lightweight shell it will go fast in a straight line. There is nothing new in that. We've seen it all before. Adding NOS to the car and it's bound to be quick. What is "a fast car". For me (as a rally competitor) it's a car that can get from A to Z over a varied range of surfaces or road conditions in the shortest possible time. The engineering at takes to acheive this far outways (IMO) the ability to get a car to go up a dragstrip. SUBARU / MITSIBISHI etc have achieved a brilliant result in producing road cars that are very fast cars "all round" whilst still retaining comforts like Air Con, safety and comfort.
The Astra in question as I've said is very quick (I have driven it), however, it still needs major work in other areas. This is'nt a dig at the owner who is a nice guy and is obviously very chuffed with his car and if he set out to achieve owning a fast straight line car then IMO he has done that. I own an 05 Sti which wouldn't acheive in standard form the 0-120mph times that the Astra does, however, when my car is going quickly I have the comfort in knowing I can still listen to a bit of Radio 2 or classic FM (LOL).
It really just depends on the interperatation of a "fast car".

You could make a shed go fast if you threw enough money into it.

Fair play to the guy for making a v quick car.

I wouldnt spend £18k doing an Astra up though. Could buy you a Cebera or similar.
