Tips for removing WRX graphics on bootlid
#1
Hi guys,
I'm Picking up my STi V TypeR V-Limited this afternoon! Can't wait
The 1st thing that needs attention is the removal of the Surf Shack style WRX graphics on the bootlid. I know people have advocated using a hairdryer before. Is this the best method? If so, any tips would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Chris

Hi,
Got the silly sticker off my Type R using the old hairdryer trick - no problems. For some reason, I've just stuck a massive STi sticker on the back bumper. Having now decided it looks crud, it's time to get the hairdryer out again...

Best way I've ever found is to pour boiling water from a kettle over said sticker and then remove it with asbestos fingers.
Bear in mind you'll need a damned good polish (depending on the age of the car).

Cheers Guys.
Boy is this car just awesome!!!! I have used 3/4 of a tank this afternoon re-aquainting myself with a Scoob.
How much better than a UK Car? Some of you already know. amazing.
I'll have to go and buy a hairdryer because the old one got sold with the MR2. LOL.
Mike, I need to come over and see you about some Octane Booster. Save us a case!
Cheers

Tip from the Wizard Of Wax
DO NOT USE BOILING WATER...this can send your paint into deep shock and cause it to blister.
As everyone says...use a hairdryer but hold the har dryer a couple of inches away from the sticker. Warm one end of the sticker and lift it from the paint. Then keeping some tension pull the sticker whilst still applying the heat.
Afterwards..remove any residue of glue and tyhen wax over the said area.
Have fun
