Talking Buggering About.

Is this the main pastime of Scoobynetters? I see so many threads like:

"I've just stickered up my scoob"

"How do you remove stickers?"

"I've just put Morettes on my car"

"I've just put my crystals back on"

"De-tango"

"Re-tango"

"Debadged bootlid"

"Where do I buy the Subaru letters?"

The sum total of all this activity seems to be sod all, as it all seems to cancel out.

So the the aforementioned buggering about appears to be the primary goal, with the actual result of the buggering about being of subsidiary importance.

Or is it just me?

If it ain't broke...don't fix.

Money wasted on asthetics could actually put to good use and buy some petrol to drive your car somewhere rather than just sitting pretty(ugly)

That's true enough, but for once I'm not having a go at that. I'm just wondering whether the urge to bugger about with one's car or anything else is something primeval, rather than what actual form the buggering about takes. There may actually be a gene that codes for the aesthetic urge to have a scoop big enough for U2 to have a live concert within.

Whether that gene locus is part of a larger buggering about gene complex is anyone's guess.

Hobby, pass-time, whatever you want to call it, most people have one and many others will question why you do it ! Whether you knock a ball around a field with a stick, climb up a steep cliff instead of using the much easier footpath to get to the same place or impersonate Billy Idol we all do something with our spare time to entertain ourselves.

Could buggering be a infantile form of tinkering?

You know the scene; how many Pensioners or old men you see who spend almost evey day messing with their 1988 Austin Metro Vanden plas (or similar)......yet they completely ignore the rusting rear arches and boot floor ready to fall through!

This could be the latter day consequence of buggering about from an early age

Corradoboy... I'll see your , and raise you.

And noobscoob, my main pastime is enjoying my scoob and having a bit of a laugh and banter with people who can tell the difference.

Exactly, Ali. It is what defines the enthusiast, I think. In the same way that I can't see any of the faults in my scoob that appal you so deeply. I'll never experience its understeer because I don't have the talent or bottle to drive it fast enough.
