Optimax not enough for STI

My STI has been getting a little greedy. It’s not happy with £1.00 a litre Optimax it’s decided to start eating birds too. I was washing the car the other day when I looked into the bonnet scoop and thought what the hell is that. So I opened the bonnet to find a well cooked bird on the intercooler. Now the girlfriend thinks the car is a killer ha ha. It was not very nice pealing this thing off its final resting place. Thankfully there was no damage to the intercooler. I remember seeing a close call with a bird but didn’t even think the car had decided to eat the thing ha ha.
So am just wondering has any one else had similar incidents or funny stories about low flying objects that there Scooby has decided to eat.

a couple of years ago a bird flew into my car through the passenger window that was open and proceeded to hit the rear window spreading feathers all over my interior! i absolutely shat my pants when it happened as i was doing about 50mph.
i stopped the car opened the rear door and the bird flew off unhurt.

Bloke at work the other day returned complete with a cooked tawny owl stuck out through the grill of his mercedes sprinter!
He refused to remove it all day through fear the rest of us would take the mick and say he had hit something through bad driving!....
Reckoned he had atleast 10 people come up to him throughout the day to tell him he had something feathery lodged in his grill...

Some people think (incorrectly) the water spray is to cool the intercooler.
Of course it's actually a wash spray to remove small animals and children etc. who've been sucked into the scoop (rather like headlight wash jets).

Soon as I read bird a memory returned to me... soon as I saw the R1 I thought it was my old and somebody had taken some cheeky snaps.
I got rid of my R1 due to it's attraction to birds, had the same happen with a wood pidgeon. Thought it was just my bad luck. Couple of weeks passed and had all repairs completed, and I'd be buggered If I was out on a nice sunday blast, nice relaxing ride and I hit a pheasant, or I should say a pheasant hit me, not a problem normaly just shrug it off. Only prob was I was doing about 140 and it nearly knocked me off the back, only saving grace was due to the speed the bike stayed true and kept online and I managed to hook me left foot under the bar which prevented me rolling of the back. I decided this was a fated bike and orderd a new gixer 750 the next morning.
