Cleaning Carbon Fibre
#3
I would say warm soapy water, nothing to abrasive either. The other thing you can do to help keep it looking good is keep it out of direct sunlight, as sunlight and heat will help destroy the resin, making it go dull, and possibly giving it a sharkskin style roughness over time. Which is impossible to get rid of. Chips will be easy to repair though, Just get some epoxy glue from halfords, mix it up, fill the chip, wipe excess away then cover with smooth plasticly, carfully get all the air out, and get it smooth for an easy smooth finish.
Jase.

maybe not the best decription it`s like realy thick cling film or plastic tape without the sticky side, clingfilm will do at a push, but it`s more difficult to get a smooth finish.

If your wondering how I know all this. My race kayaks are carbon kevlar construction, and they can get bashed around a bit in racing, there is not an aweful lot of epoxy in the construction, to keep things light. So being able to repair them quickly without huge lumps of epoxy dangling off is a good idea. I used to build it up then rub down with 2500 grade cloth, but it took forever. The plastic way is much easier.
