PPP???
#3
The problem with the PPP is that it is a 'generic map' designed to give performance gains to the widest range of cars. This is fine, and your car will develope more power.
Far better is to go for a custom map, along the lines of a TEK3 remap (I've had my MY99 TEK3'd by Bob Rawle - and I can't reccommend him enough - top man!). The extra goodies with the PPP (exhaust, fuel pump etc...) are then yours to choose from get them fitted and then go for the remap. Then p[lant your foot to the floor and grin!!
I'm sure if I've given you any 'iffy' advise others can correct me!!
All the best

PPP is probably the safest route if you really want to mess about with what Subaru have supplied as the best all-round package ....... but, as an owner of a MY00 myself, I cannot see that it would be cost-effective.
You can still get free PPP on a new one I think? And they are slashing the prices of their ex-demo cars to shift them ......... maybe a better option overall??

PPP will be about £1600 for a MY00, You could get an Ecutek upgrade in a group buy for about £580 and a s/h prodrive, scoobysport, etc back box & decat pipe for under £200 making it much more cost effective. The Ecutek should be specific to your car so you'll get more bhp per buck than the generic PPP setup.

When I owned a MY00 turbo, I looked into getting the PPP package. But was told by the local dealership that they couldn't fit the PPP on the classic no more, and that I had to drive to Prodrive to have it done there. Granted this was over a year ago now.

All-in-all saved yourself about £600 and your car will be more flexible with future mods. If you decide in 6 months time to fit a decat downpipe or bigger injectors etc, you then only pay a couple of hundred quid to get it remapped again for the new mods.

For my MY99
I bought a K & N panel filter, Samco hoses, Magnex Zorst (mid section and back box) and a 2nd hand Prodrive ECU off the ole Scoobynet.
All in it cost £700
No certificate but i didn't think it was worth the extra dosh

PPP reply
Normally the PPP costs as said between £1600 to £1700 but I can have it fitted for £1350 inclusive of VAT which i think is a good price . If you are interested then Gatwick motors at Crawley is the place to go .

If you go for said route above then you will see greater increases upto 270bhp if say with good torque which is more than the PPP canb give u.
I myself will be ditching the prodrive ecu next year and going for tek3.
