Default Ready to purchase - Advice needed Please

Hi guys,

Like the title suggests I am ready to purchase a Scooby privately.

Can you give me some ideas on what to watch for / look for / listen for etc as I have no clue, never having owned one!

Also, can someone tell me the EXACT location of all the VIN plates so that I can check them all for any tampering?

Thanks very much in advance

If you listen to no other piece of advice on this topic, listen to this: Go and see the car, determine whether you want it then before you buy it, get it professionally inspected! You really can't take a "tyre kicker" apprach with these cars, as if you get it wrong, it'll cost you dearly.

More info on what model you're going for would help also.

If you are looking for an 03-05 car wait till after xmas as prices will fall a bit more due to the new model. Could save a nice grand or maybe two on this vintage car.

DON'T buy the first one you see.

you will drive it and love it, but remember they will all be that fast. try at least three, including one from a dealer-> you get to have a better go on it cos you don't feel guilty for giving it a bit of welly!

It's an 03 facelift model I am looking at.

Has full SSH.

Tracker fitted, also PPP.

It will be the third vehicle I have looked at, including two at dealers.

The new car is due out within weeks, if you can wait it out then I would advise that you do so as prices of nearly new cars are bound to fall.
