just got my speedo cable fixed and ive noticed when i accelerate the car seems to hesitate at about 4 thousand rpm and starts to lose power and i have to change down a gear, yet when i change down a gear then back up it seems fine.it only seems to happen intermittently, as i took it to the garage and it was fine yet on the way home its playing up again

could be the delimeter in the cable if you`ve had it changed??
i could be wrong!
has your check engine light come on?
plug the connectors in and see if you get and error code come up.

yeah its a 96 sti mate.checked the ecu and no fault code seems to be showing.
was driving down the dual carrigeway earlier put it into 4th and lost all power then all of a sudden it misfired and i went flying off, pulled into the garage and the bloke in the car behind me said i had flames shooting out the exhaust. is this normal as i have both cats on still?

do you know any other scooby owners you could borrow one off just to test?
changed my air filter from k&n cone to one of those mushroom jobbies and forgot to do up one of the circlips, anyhow done a good run no probs, later on wanted to go to the shops and it was like it was firing on 2 cylinders!
flipped the bonnet to find the whole lot hanging off!
put it back on and done the clip up tight and guess what?
she goes like a dream!
it was missing like a bugger tho but you say yours is not all the time but best to check the maff anyhow
regards
sean..

Get check very soon. If the fueling is wrong you may melt a piston and in the worst case need a new engine. Take it to the pros rather than fiddle around taking it for short blasts and blowing the engine.
