From: Glos UK. - Manufacturers of ECU Data Monitors.
Just to clarify, we (PSi3 Ltd. ) manufacture the EcuTek data monitors, hardware is identical on both PSi3 and EcuTek variants ( All EcuTek variants are VFD )
Software is different - EcuTek variants have more functionality ( property of EcuTek ) e.g. "user tune" and "map switching" etc.. as described on www.ecutek.com.
We supply fully assembled, tested units to EcuTek.
Early LCD versions of the PSi3 data monitor could be affected by extremes of temperature, over a year ago we changed our LCD version to a negative mode extended temperature range LCD, this offers both a differnet look being a reversal of the normal LCD and the benefits of being less susceptible to temperature variation.
LCD - Liquid Crystal Display - Cheaper, can be affected by temperature.
VFD - Vacuum Flourescent Display - More expensive, clearer, filterable display ( red, blue or green ) , much greater operating range ( temp. )than LCD.

Next time you revise these you may want to consider making an input for an external EGT sensor. You sell the EGT sensors on your website. The 2006+ USDM Legacy, WRX, and Forester no longer have a cat in the up-pipe so no factory EGT probe. The STI never had one. Since many of us are getting these cars tuned, it would be a good idea to look at EGTs.

they are expensive -£170 for oil press/oil temp sensors not including fitting with vfd for sti 03 top mount coming in at £425+vat and cannot measure egt as sti ecu does not do this but wrx does! so likely keep my subaru gauge pack instead-also power engineering recommended welding oil temp to sump which according to them costs a"few hundred"
