My vote's for the Classic 97 model year. Revised bonnet, "killer whale" sports seats, improved torque, all made it an improvement on the previous model.

That's the one that got me hooked anyway...

After driving the MY06 2.5, I feel no other standard trim Impreza compares to it.

I still love the 22b for its uniqueness, but I have been heavily swayed by this new model. I reckon it looks absolutely awesome in it's wide body form (Cusco - I'm lovin' it!)
