SICK OF CHAV!
Is any one else sick of hearing the word CHAV?
A car is what you make of it, and the subaru has a rally image to me not a chav image! I don't know one chav with an impreza, half of them can't drive and the other half spend their money on drugs and drink! So what if some of them like the appeal of a subaru that's because the car your driving is an icon i know many people of the elder generation who love the car as well as the young. As long as we realise our aspiration sod the rest of them they can keep the affection coming or turn a blind eye!!
Rant over, back to normal mode!

I'm sick of people generalising.
Are you implying half the chavs can't drive and the rest abuse themselves?
or
Half the Impreza owners can't drive and the other half spend their money on drink and drugs?
Some may say either is accurate

Theres plenty of other cars that fall into the "chav-mobile" catagory along with Impreza's - such as Nova's etc.
But as has been said, you should be able to enjoy the car, despite the image it has!

Kinda depends what you do to it aswell - who can honestly say they look at Andy F, Mikee or Pavlo's cars and think 'chav'.
Give it another year or 2 and the number 1 chav car will be a Skline GTS anyway.

fair comments being made, think it comes down to what defines a chav car? is it the desire of a chav to own one or is it, which is my view, a stupid body kitted, show and no go kind of car with household appliances stuck in there left right and centre ie ps2 etc?
I don't really know, just annoys me to be hearing the car is a "chav-mobile" when where i'm coming from it's plain not, it's very much a drivers car!!

it's a chav car I'm afraid, took me a while to accept that... Especially now that you can pick them up for sub £3k...
Anything with bling wheels, rear wings, bodykits, neons and all of the other non essential crap will always be chav.
I mean come on, how can something that looks and sounds like a Scooby, be anything other than Chavvy
Didn't used to be that way though, when I first got mine, the likes of Halfords and Motorworld carried ZERO Impreza accesories, now they are full of them as the car has slid down the food chain a bit

I personaly feel it is only the snobs on this board that are labelling others as CHAV, it seems to be the in buzz word at the moment. Everything is CHAV if someone on here disagrees with it or gets beaten by it or is jealous of it, and as there are so many mindless sheep on SN it becomes the norm.

Never heard of Cossie's being Chav, despite the common qualifier on here of costing less than £3k and having wings.
Ironic that the only time I've ever heard Scoobies refered to as Chavvy, is on Scoobynet.
Love my Scoob, and it only looses about £1/day...
Edited to say I must start writing in sentences, not being a Chav!

Dont really think a fairly standard looking car is that chavvy anyway - stick some chrome wheels and neon on, and it will be, as will anything.
Most of the chavs I see drive Novas, Corsas, 106's or old Cavaliers or Escorts - the ones who scrape together a few quid seem to buy Calibras.

Have to remember as well ( like I just have ) that people label any car with a scoop, vents and big spoiler as being chav or boy racer - but Imprezas ( generally ) have these as standard equipment - and they are there for performance reasons ( well, apart from the vents, but I suppose homologation is enough of a reason ), not bolt on bits from halfords that boy racers buy to make slow cars look faster.

I can see where people may think scoobys are becoming chav ish cars but thats normally the classic shape as they are so cheap to get now. The new shape is still out of reach due to price. Its a shame it may be happening but then how many of them are actually insured corectly if at all? I still think of the scooby as a rally car and hopefully always will. i like that image better! to break the mould round here they seem to be filtering down to the local cruise chavs last time i went to one there were about 3-4 owned by chav lookalikes. but then so what you either like a car or not? when i bought mine mates of mine labelled it chav mobile or another name which id rather not post for racism sake but they do seem to be rife in bradford and owned by shady characters..
