Smile Hello all, new subaru owner

Hi people, just got my first WRX on a 05 plate with only 3k on the clock in Crystal grey. Wow what a car.
I had on order a Astra VXR but due to 2 delays I decided I couldn't wait any longer so went on a hunt for some new wheels. Found this baby and had to have her.
I was wondering if any one can advise if it's worth getting a dump valve, if so what are the best of this kind of engine? I would prefer one that doesn't make loads of noise.

Mate,
Welcome to the mad house, your car already has a dump valve, one of the quiet ones.
enjoy the car and get the credit card ready.

You made the right choice,if u dont want the woosh from a dv there is really no point in changing it,u wont get any performance gain, save your money and put it towards getting ppp,or a nice bk box

Thanks for the welcome. Is there anything I can do to help reduce the turbo lag? Apart from making sure i'm in the right gear at the right time.

Hi There, new myself and also was waiting for a Astra VXR but really got tired of the constant delays and can safely say that after test driving the Impreza their is no way I will ever look back with any sadness.

Afraid I can't be of much help with the turbo lag.

Enjoy the scoob, as i am sure you will - the noise, the oooooommmpphhh, the handling, oh and so much more even the horrendous fuel bills are worth it, or am I still too new to subaru ownership to have a unbiased view on this particular aspect of the experience?

Welcome mate, I have an MY01 WRX and love the car. I bought it as standard last May but have already replaced the side repeaters, reflectors and gear ****. I'm about to turn my calipers red, buy a set of Rota 18" wheels (if I can get the ones I want), uprated fuel pump and whiteline droplinks.

Oh and I nearly forgot..........I'm having an ecutek remap on the 31st October .

Get ready to a) empty your savings acount b) max out your o/d or credit card c) sell the wife, kids and internal organs

Whatever you do, enjoy the ride

are u mad?? a FMIC will not reduce his turbo lag it will make it worse..jaysus great dvice, best advice for starters is exhaust, turbo up pipe and down pipe and a nice back box should sort u out for a nice sound and freeing up a few horses

Welcome to the wonderful world of Scooby ownership!!

Ditto what Flat4 said, de-cat the exhaust with a decent back box, centre section and an open neck downpipe and that should reduce some of the lag.
