Is 600BHP enough for totb
Going for 600bhp in my P1 should all be run in and ready for next july.
Would like to have a go at totb next year .Have I got much of a chance to get in the top 10.Any idea what 1/4 mile time i should get with a 6 speed box uk?

Six speed box will be a handicap as there are too many gearchanges. Even with just over 400 BHP I was doing a gearchange every 2 seconds, and that was with taller tyres. When you shift a six speed hard you may find that you damage the selector fork bushes rather quickly as well - I did this on the drag strip.
To be competitive, as well as 600 BHP, you'll need to do excellent launches (and possibly have launch control/antilag), excellent gearchanges with the right ratios, choose tyres carefully as well as making sure that the drivetrain is strong enough to cope.
Would think you'd be in the mid-low 10s if you hook it all up.

From: Over 500ft/lbs of torque @ just 1.1bar
ICE car uses a dog-box.
I think you would need to be mid-low 10s to make the TOTB team for the drag, as I think it will be orgainised differently for next time.
Having the RR power is one thing - getting into the 10s is another.

Mikee runs in the mid 10's with less than 600 brake, but with a 5 speed PPG gearbox with ratios ideal for doing 1/4 mile runs...budget on spending another 4k+ for a transmission and clutch that is able to get your 600 brake car into the 10's

I believe that Andy's car will do nearly 100 in second!!
Is the Icelandic 6sp or a 5sp Modena dog conversion in the 6sp box?
Bob is right - power is nothing without control.
With high 500 bhp I never bettered 11.7s on the drag strip even with excellent launches. My gearchanges were never up to the job and cost me at least half a second. A lockable centre diff is useful too.
The same car with perhaps a little more torque then got into the 10s eventually doing a 10.41 with Steven (P20SPD) making better gear changes.
So you will need great technique as well as a car that holds that power together - and it is not as easy as it looks. Andy and Paul put a huge amount of effort into their campaigns this year. The best of luck to you - and congratulations on having a great goal and the ambition to do it.
