Default Re-map vs Economy

Just wondering generally how a re-map will affect economy.
I know you're more likely to be sticking the old toe down once it's done, but as a rough comparison, does it make much of a difference?

I had my STi 8 re-mapped by WRC Tech and I'm now returning 240 miles instead of 190 to a tank of Optimax. Power up from 265/260 to 345/365 so can't be bad

I didn't have my car very long before I had it mapped (TEK2) but the economy didn't seem to be affected at all. I know some will say it improves but I don't think it did in my case.

However my last JDM 4X4 Turbo was a Nissan GTIR which gave some shocking MPG figures!
