Default EVO service costs

Was going to post this earlier in the month but forgot.

EVO mag had their long term MR340 serviced (18,000 miles) and new pads fitted all round. Cost came to £1,700 ........jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus How the hell can that be justified?

Someone help out with the details if i'm wrong, havent got the mag with me.

Did you see the piece by Simon George about his Lambo service £3k, and they wanted another £1600 for the pads (which he sourced from elsewhere for £300) and 2 tyres for another £1600 or so.

£5k just to keep the thing on the road for another few months

That is the sort of thing that pushed me more to the scoob than the Evo. Pity coz I really do like them.

The scoob isn't cheap to run but so far for me it has been cheaper than an Evo. (judging by what others have spent).

Yeah, i'm like you. I love the Evo 6, still do. Been dreaming of one forever. The finances came together last week and i could finally afford one, but the servicing etc pushed me back to a scooby, as it's closer to an everyday car and seems to be alot less to keep on the road, shame, but i'm not lOOking back on the STi purchase just yet.

no idea where they got that price from

last service I had done on my EVO VII (34K) included AYC oil , engine oil, Diffs, Gearbox, alignment check , brake fluid & a few other little bits , and it only came to 400 ish + VAT.

Granted I didnt get new pads all round, but christ knows what pads they used to bump it up to that price.

Phil (loving his EVO VII)

I call recall Jeremy Clarkson saying on one of his videos that it costs £25k to service a Mclaren F1 - sweet jesus!!

Thats just daft.

Thats what I couldnt get my head around. I'm sure it said just pads, might have been just disks but either way £1,700 is horrendous, just doesnt seem right.

Anyone got a mag with them to confirm the details?
