Depending on how popular the 323MPS is they might still decide to resurrect the 626MPS.

We can hope.....

 

Arghhh !!! No Mazda what are you doing ?? If this was to drive as well as it looks this would do for Mazda what the Impreza Turbo has done for Subaru.

Seems that there may be a lot of Jap machines getting canned at the moment. I hear the new EVO got similar treatment - something to do with the Japanese Government.

 

The Japanese government wants to punish Mitsubishi for bringing Japanese auto manufacturing into disrepute, so they won't allow the vehicle to go through the normal approval route until they're "happy with things at Mitsubishi". So, for the moment, the EVO 7 can't go on sale.

It could have quite serious repercussions for the rally team if they planned to race the new model.

 

How have Mitsubishi supposedly brought japanese car manufacturing into disrepute?

As i understand it, Mitsubishi have been hiding all their customer complaints in a cupboard or under a carpet. They've recently been found out and as a result have had to issue recalls on a number of vehicles - i think Lancer fuel tanks were one ...
The head honcho has carried the can and left.

 

Comendable of head honcho of mitsi if true usually bosses and leaders (esp politicians) just pass the buck.

I used to have a Mazda 323 turbo (BBR chipped to 170BHP). It was great fun (apart from brakes). So a 323 MPS should be good too? Anyone got any pics/info re 323 MPS???

When's the new shape Impreza going to be redesigned ? I could probably stick with my current Scoob for a couple of years ..

 

since the 626 is a mondeo underneath - isn't it just a case that there is a new floorpan to design the car around? -
I think (could be wrong) that the 626 mps was just a show car exercise - maybe they will still do it for the new version when it finally comes out.
