Bye Bye, STi......Bear with me!
After 9 years and 3 scoobs (2 x Classic 5-door and my current 02STi UK/PPP) middle age has finally caught up with me
I've had a smashing time, but an STi @ 22 mpg with low profile 18" on really smart alloys isn't quite the machine for commuting daily around badly surfaced Country lanes and down an unsealed farm track to go play with my horses. So, before the residual finally collapses before the onslaught of 2.5s, head has overcome heart
What will I miss?
The kick in the back
The grip
The kick in the back
The turned heads
The kick in the back
The sound
The 'Scooby Wave' - Some think it's sad: but I like it. I KNOW that the other driver has bought a similar car for exactly the same reasons, and we therefore share pleasure in the same features
My Dealer: Walldonways @ Maidstone - friendly, courteous, excellent service - looked after me well when things got difficult...
What will I miss like a hole in the head??
My NSR Suspension knock
My second Classic's clutch
The hole in my wallet
Sort of miss Scoobynet, too, though I shall look in from time to time. Made some friends here - Dave T-S, T5NYW, Urban, John Felstead to mention a few - and had lots of help for which I'm grateful.
So, if anyone gets a wave from - ahem - a whiskered gent in a blue diesel X-Tail (maybe towing a horse trailer.... one of the other reasons for the change), it's only me wishing I was in what you're in!!
Phil

.....Make 22 mpg look positively teetotal, I should think, Tony!!! Mind you, I used to tow them with my 4x4 (T) Calibra - and it was a B****y good tow car
You never know T5NYW - met Marcus's Black Beast when out hunter trialling a few years ago!!

It gets to us all eventually mate
I've recently just cleared out my STi for an Oil Burner.....
Mind you felt bloody lovely today as I've circumnavigated the M25 stopping off at Ealing and St Albans and have averaged 46.8 Mpg
Not bad from a 3L Diesel i reckon
I take solice in the fact that after owning 2 Scoobs I can now say with authority that I've "Been There and done that"........

Phil,
Good to meet you for the first time on Saturday... Real shame you are selling the car.. Looks a minter..
Know what you mean about the unsealed farm track!!! My stomach was churning with each pot hole.. er.. pot crater!
All the best... maybe see you again...
