Which mod next?
I'm wanting to know the best route to go next.
I've got a MY00 uk with, at present, full decat, K&N panel filter and tek3 remap.
What should I be looking at next?
I'm assuming a bigger turbo, and if so, will I be able to run it ok on the standard intercooler for a while?
Any other suggestions?

My current spec is as yours. I've been looking at :-
VF28
STI8 I/C
Pump and reg
Remap to suit
Maybe 2nd headers if in budget.
I've got all manner of gauges already etc. and 335 brake coversion. I'm tempted to go for some suspension mods before I fiddle with the engine. Only worry with the engine is that you do the above mods and get the 300BHP but then the clutch gives up within a fortnight or at the very worst 3rd calls time and spits its teeth out. I'd factor in those costs too before taking the plunge for bigger HP
EDIT - Suspension :-
KYB AGX shocks (see group buy)
Eibach springs
Whiteline 22 adjustable rear bar
Solid drop links
Anti lift
Trip to Powerstation for bumpsteer and geometry setup for the above.
Should all fit in well under a grand if you get your hands dirty and fit some of it yourself.

If I understand it correctly, you might want to ask how much torque your transmission can take, as I think that's the culprit. However, I don't think there is a definate answer as -to some extent- it depends on how you drive the car!

It looks like you need more flow, your torque comes on strong then tails away. Is this not a sign of the turbo not keeping up.

They put a new one one, a bit bigger I think.
Could this be anything to do with it?

Got a '99 UK model, so similar to 2000 model. Have been told by a couple of tuners that ~280bhp is a safe limit for a classic UK model of this age.
My mota's producing 280BHP and 305lbs torque(Power Engineering) with the following:
Link ECU (mapped by B.Rawle)
Gruppe S ver 2 headers
Full decat
Car drives very quick.

Torque is directly related to VE, therefor if torque is dropping off, then VE is falling. As you say it seems as if the turbo is limiting the boost as the revs rise. A bigger/hybrid turbo should give good results (as long as the fuelling can keep up)
oops, VE= volumetric efficiency. A measure of how full a cylinder is on the inlet stroke, i.e 100% means the cylinder is full of air at atmospheric pressure. Turbo cars run at > 100% whereas NA cars often run < 100% but pulse tuning can get it above 100% over a narrow band.
