Heated Mirrors - DIY Answer!!
Been using my Rear Heated Screen and the wing mirrors weren't clearing
It took 2 hours, but I dismantled the wing mirror on the passenger side and there are NO WIRES at all!!
OK, I thought, Subaru - the cheapskates must have just heated the Drivers side ............... 2 hours later off comes the drivers side - ....
Guess what?? NO WIRES there either
Now I've got to put then all back together again!! ...... mind you, I have drilled a hole on the inside of the door leading to the mirror internals ... and put a plastic hose (the type that come off the pumps in Aquariums) from the heater vent into the mirror casing ............. works a treat!!!
Anyone want to buy the plans off me?? £19:99??

Ah the economy version,
cheapskate pete, why not rep;ace the nightlights , far cheaper.
if youve drilled holes between the mirror and the car inner you will ned to get it on a jig and get the alignment checked, as the body stiffness will now be affeected.
just thing of all that damp and condensation thats going to get in to your car now
For sale.. one blue chav(gold wheeled) impreza, suffers from condensation and has a distorted body shell
one deranged owner best offer over 10p secures

It's a Jap thing, christ they don't give you a fog light so they're not gonna give you heated mirrors, i'm guessing they go by 'if they are behind you, then it's there reponsability to look out for you'.

I keep getting bird ****e on my car and then I noticed when the glass was frozen up on these cold days, this didn't happen.
It turns up they were flying down to admire themselves in the WING mirrors. boom, boom.

I thought, as I rarely use the rear washer, that I would use that pipe and container/pump.
I have taken all the rear trim out and cannot find the rear wash bottle!!
Come to think about it ................... I can't remember ever filling it up!!
Where is it???????????

It's possible to buy heated pads for car seats, so I dunno why it wouldn't be possible to make a heated mirror doofer.
Shouldn't take too much current either as you'd want it warm, not toasty.
OTOH you could just stuff a pair of mittens over them
