Default What MPG for a standard (ish) classic??

What sort of fuel consumption should i expect from a Classic Scoob??

For instance how many miles should i get per 10 quid 20 quid etc.
As a new owner it seems quite shocking even when i'm taking it easy
i seem to be only getting 40-45 miles per tenner,

i have a noisy air filter fitted - could that make it worse?

Thanks

Tenner of normal unleaded, super unleaded or Optimax? Cost per litre?

For my automatic Forester S Turbo:

88.9p per litre for NUL
£10.00 = 11.25 litres
11.25 litres = 2.475 gallons

Average 18-22mpg (depending on roads) = 45-55 miles on a tenner of NUL

Unhappy

I pay 93.7p for optimax with octane booster (£3.50ish abottle).

£40 to fill up and i get about 220mls with the odd blast onder2:

Im running standard boost (1.2bar) with HKS induction kit, guna de-cat it soon and in the process of upgrading my STI ver.1 I/C to an STI ver.4

Other than that the engine is a standard Jap STI!!!

Well just figured it out, and i'm getting 35-40 miles for a tenner, and i can honestly say i have had the odd burst with the remaining times driving like the Pope, my buddu has just text'd me saying he gets 60 miles out of 10 quid.

340 km's per tank average

best ever = 380km's

worst = about 220km's - but i was giving it some out in the mountain roads

average = 300 - 330km's

based on a full tank (40ltr) using optimax

decat, RA engine, and remap to 300bhp my93wrx

Std UK WRX, if I fill up, and multiply miles done since last fill by 17p, I pretty much can guess how much the pump is going to ring up. It was 18p but prices have come down a wee bit, and 17p is based on Optimax at about 92p/litre.

25 mpg is about normal for me, and when I had a Classic, it was about the same. I accelerate like an a**e, but don't cruise at 90 or anything.

20 MPG is not a bad benchmark around town 23 on a run with occasional blast. 30 if you stay off boost on a run

I get around 22mpg.
Thats a mix of 20 mile motorway runs with a sprint at each end and a bit of around town driving.

oh, and 20 minutes to reverse on the drive at the gf's house - I NEVER get it right!

On the motorway for the majority of the tank and a bit of a blast gave me 24 mpg.

Short trips and fast trips I'm now getting anywhere between 16-20mpg

I used to have a standard classic (turbo 2000 - 208bhp). The car was mainly driven on fairly quiet traffic free roads and returned between 25 and 28 mpg. Always used normal unleaded.

The most i have ever had is 230kms from a full tank average around 210 kms.

This seems a lot worse than most on here??

The car is a pretty much standard 95 wrx

Any thoughts

Depends how you drive I average 220 miles from £40. About 19mpg in a 98 classic. Can get it down to about 8mpg if I really try.
