also my car must have some aftermarket springs since the car is sitting low and its only got 16" alloys on,the alloys are filling the arches almost,
with 17"s they would probably rub against arches,

what can i do to solve this?

would i have to change the springs on the car?

any advice appreciated,

In a word yes. You need some highering springs...

The radius on my 17s is almost the same as my old 16s, so shouldnt think it would fowl the arches, wont really help raise the car though either!! lol!

Best bet is either get some standard springs, or some coilovers with adjustable ride height!!

Bigger alloys have nothing to do with it as you should allways maintain the same rolloing radius i.e lower profile tyres. Scoobs too low look mince anyway. IMO.
