Default New Scooby

Hi all!

I have finally got my new Impreza after weeks of searching for the right one!!

I have gone for a V reg (1999) classic in sonic blue with 46k on the clock. It has a few mods, including, HKS intercooler, unichip, Scorpion exhaust, P1 alloys, boost controller etc etc

I have a couple of questions though, I'm not eactly sure what the HKS intercooler does extra to my car (I could probably look this up, but i'm quite lazy!) and also if I remove the unichip will my mpg get slightly better because its realy bad on juice at the minute!!

Finally, it would be great if some of you could give a rough valuation of the car from what I've told u as I think I got it at a decent price!

Thanks

~AK~

intercooler keeps charge temp down and so should add power. Ecu needs mapping to provide extra fuelling for the fact that cool air is more dense.

Removing the unichip with that mod in place may not be wise, but personally I am totally against unichips.

IOn a version 5 (99 car) I would lokk at contacting your local ecutek dealer and getting one of those on there.

It is unlikely that the hks fmic is your only mod. do you know what elese is on there as te more mods on there, the less safe removing the unichip would be (aqssuming the chip was mapped to the mods).

ps. this should be in technical forum.
