Momo air bag steering wheel removal?
I've had enough of the ridiculous sized Momo air bag wheel in my 98 STi 4 (only taken 5 1/2 yrs) so I'm replacing it, I just need to know is it a case of removing a fuse to disable the air bag? (don't fancy a face full of sack when I'm removing it )
Mods i know I've posted in the wrong forum bit I got no replies in gen tech

when i took the steering wheel of mine i left fuses in etc i just un screwed the 2 hex bolts carefully which will allow you to pull the air bag out in one piece, and you wont have a problem, just make sure your steering is straight when removing the wheel and dont damage the slip ring

Disconnect the battery for at least 1/2 an hour.
The airbag can hold the charge, and it might discharge when you disconnect it!
Unlikely but possible. You could do without it going off, especially when you see the price of a replacement!

dont try the same technique when you refit the item.
i know from old that they are fussy items , and can deploy when battery voltage is applied following being disconnected!!!
as do some unhappy chappys from the rover plants
dont ever try to dismantle one either i used to do it for a living, and i can tell you there mean mothers!!
