the only folk i could find that make a replacment gear gator for the crappy rubbery thing is milsport http://www.milsport.co.uk/

It used to be over £100 quid i think!! its £75 now. i want one but i'm really not keen on the price tag. if they droped it down to £50 then i'd be happy to buy one.

until that time i'll spend my money on other things for the car.

I'd be interested to see a pic of this mate, please take one and post it up here, or mail it to me and i'll get it hosted for all to see.

I've had a look on ebay and i can see that he does indeed sell the gator for the 92-98 model but i'm sceptical that this will actually fit pre 96 cars. Does it fit over the standard rubber one, if not then there must be a surround otherwise there is nothing holding the thing in place.

Show me how it works lad!

Looks good, pitty i cant find one like that, it's just what i'm after.

I had thought about cutting the rubber gator just above its first step (those with this crap style of gator will know what i mean) then fitting the leather gator over and under that.

The pic above looks as if it could be fitted in this way as there is a very prominant "surround" (although the gator itself hides what it is)

Hi, I?ve started a post on www.scoobynet.co.uk about gear boots for pre facelift Classic shape Imprezas - mainly because the standard rubber one is crap!! There seems to be a good number of people interested in your replacement product, now what I was wondering is if I can get enough people to order say 10,15 or more - could you do us a group buy outwith ebay for a nice price??? I would take responsibility for drumming up interest on site, collecting payment & orders - then dealing with yourself for 1 bulk buy. If you could get back to me on this matter either way it would be most appreciated.

Regards, Colin.

For the price that he sells them at and the fact that they are direct, over the rubber to retain some shape, £18 ish isn't too bad a price. Take into account that Momo etc retail for a lot more and are universal, then £18 is a bit of a bargain. Just MHO.

Thumbs up

Fold it over, small cable tie, a little bit of fiddling and bob's ya mothers brother. Freshens the interior up no end, especially with a couple of other aftermarket goodies.

Big thumbs up for Mr Gaiter on Ebay from me too. I'd bid on a blue/black leather combo and by the time I won and it had arrived I'd sold my Reddish Blue Scoob and got a white one, Mr Gaiter kindly did a straight swap for a white leather gator.

His prices are very good, I can't see to much advantage of a group buy.
