What's the common opinion on this Car ????
Renault Clio V6 http://www.renault.com/default.html?...ts/clio_V6.htm
I have been a scooby owner for years & seriously thinking of a complete change.
The 2nd hand Price of the Cough, Cough, Clio V6 is now almost affordable (Beans on Toast for the next 6 years)
So what do you think of this Motor .
Thanks
Dean

The Mk1 has problems due to stiffness at the rear (My friend was a senior chassis engineer for the project) that they did not have time or resources to fix before release. Made the car a bit wild on the limit.
Fixed for the Mk2

I think the last clio V6 Renaultsport 255 in yellow will be a good investment for the future. You only have to look at those limited edition Renault 5 turbo rear engined beasts, there fetching around £25k now, and to me the Clio V6 is a newer version of the rear engined 5 turbo.
Dont flame me ive just woke up.

I think generally the opiniion is lots of fun - hard to live with day-to-day...
there is a shootout on the evo website :
TVR 350C v Evo VIII FQ-300 v Clio V6 v VX220 Turbo
makes a good read,

MK 1 or 2? Mk 1s are death traps! The Mk2 are a bit beter. They are both hell of a handfull to drive. A modded mini cooper is a much beter bet. Theres a guy in my local club who bought one for 4 k on ebay n is paying 10 k to have it fixed!

As others have said, very slow. I had a play with one recently, he kept coming back for more after I "handed him his *** on a plate" time and again (it's an American thing).
Think carefully, it's a Renault. It's French. It's a Clio. It's slow. Add that to what others have said about the handling and make up your mind. Coming from an STi I have no doubt you'll regret it.
