Not a knife!!
Or the windscreen wiper blades
You know, the ones you can buy from Autoglym and Turtle Wax. Halfrauds was out of the former so I got the latter, as in this weather it's really too cold to spend lots of time with a chamois, as by the time you've worked your way around the car, it's turned to ice!! You just want to get the water off it and prevent it from smearing.
I used it yesterday for the first time, quite impressed, not a replacement for a thorough going over with a chamois, but not bad and certainly much quicker which is important in the winter.
Any other opinions?

BE VERY CAREFULL. They scratch!!!
Make sure you throughtly was the car before you use it and also only use it on ONE direction - Straight lines no curves!!
They are great, but still would prefer to use a chamos (leather or sinthetic (sp?)

It's all I use now. As said, only to be used on a freshly washed car. I use mine all over but obviously there are places you can't get to, but for me it does a very good job.![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
PS I'm very **** when it comes to washing my car, no car washes (not even hand) one sponge for bodywork one for wheels/sills and if they goton the floor they're in the bin..!

They are great as long as you clean the blade with the wash cloth first & then use them wet !
BEst way to dry the car after that is to use a big old bath towel washed without conditioner ! You can easily wash it after every use & therefore wont hold the dirt that a chamois does ! Plus you wont need to wring it out as a towel will dry the whole car !

Personally I wouldn't use a blade to dry paintwork, due to the risk of damage.
Best product for drying a car is a waffle weave microfibre drying towel. These towels are super absorbent leave a streak free finish and are least likely to trap any dirt and damage paintwork.

Best car wash tool you can buy.
I regularly have a 4 car wash weekend so any time the blade helps is worth it.
Are you all so worried about scratches?
I take it you drive your Scooby the way it was designed for?
Fast.
Graham.

Been using a Turtlewax blade for a couple of years and managed to scratch the car once. As said above always wipe the blade to remove any dirt.

I use the California Water Blade from USA seems a bit more flexable than my old Autoglymn one.
When using it I do not put any pressure on it just place it on bodywork and move in straight lines. I find it saves ages in drying, a godsend this time of year.
I then finish off with a Cobra Guzzler Satin Edge Drying Towel from MotorGereks.
I try and wash my car every friday, early finish in work.

The "Cobra Guzzler Satin Edge Drying Towel" is a microfibre drying cloth.
I find them better than chomois, they don't end up smelling. And you can pop them in the washing machine.
When I wax my car I use the Cobra Super-Plush Deluxe Microfibre Towel,
I find these better than cotton cloths.

LOL!
. Thought i was the only one who was getting funny looks at the local car wash, stood there with two different sponges, and running round like a headless chicken, trying to spot the bits i've missed before the dreaded BEEP,BEEP,BEEEP starts!

I personally don't bother with the Blade, i've got the AutoGlym one, i use their drying cloth, it's brilliant. Have a clean bucket of water available and keep washing it out reg, i can't fault it.
