I had this problem when some one wrote of my clio 16V, there always offer crap money first.
I got a local renault specialist to send a letter saying about my car and how you woundnt find another in that condition for that money.

Got alot more money in the end

I had the same problem last year with my STI v5 (same colour). Stolen and written off. Insurance offered £9K, I held out and got £12K after about a 5 month battle. Sending them adverts didn't do me any good - they just ignored them. In the end a combination of sending someone to do an independent valuation plus threat of legal action got the result.

Do not give them the registraion doc until you have agreed an amount and put it in writing that they are not to dispose of the car until you have agreed an amount. Gives them some incentive to not let it drag on (and if they go against your instructions you can sue them).

(Edited because I can't type!)

I had this problem too when my wifes Mark 2 golf gti was written off a couple of years ago by a lying idiot

They were offering really silly money at the time for it and she had a really nice one. After a month of battling I got the right money out of them but in that time she didn't even have a car

They shifted her car to a salvage yard without even letting her know and the car at that point was still her property!

The only way I got them to agree the price was to find adverts and keep on telling them that I couldn't replace it with that for her and I would never have let her sell the car for the money they were offering. The claim still took 18 months to settle though

we had the same with the wifes, despite sending pictures and adds showing the correct market value, it was a case of xx less the excess, in short bugger all

Sorry to hear about that. Maybe you will find some adverts on this site - a lot of Subaru dealers advertise on this. Hope it all works out OK.

As said above, don't give over the documents untill your happy with the price (don't get greedy though ) The longer they have to store the car, the more it costs them.

Most people say that the 3rd offer is the one to accept. But this has been said for quiet awhile now, so maybe wait more???

Good luck what ever you do
