New member. Burning clutch!!
Just wondered if this was a common problem?got a 3 yr old wrx with no mods, done about 22k, and driven mostly by the wife. Noticed recently smell of clutch burning when pulling away quick and tootling round car parks. Should i be worried???

Well i would be a lil worried!
My clutch is about knackered, but cant afford to have it done for anougher 3 weeks, costing £500
Get it checked out, hopefully it may just need adjusting!
Is the missus taking her foot off clutch properly????? you know what women are like!!!

Don't tell me about women and clutches
I get a call "my car is making a funny smell when I'm stationary at lights/junctions or crawling in traffic "
reply:
That's the clutch dear. If you keep slipping it for more than 5seconds...which you do, because your a short **** and wear stupid shoes. It will overheat and smell, because: a) I know you can't push the pedal all the way to the floor and b) you have the seat so far forward you can't take the foot off the pedal either and c) I know you never use the handbrake at junctions/lights
It didn't go down too well
Mecahincal failure not withstanding. Most clutch problems are caused by mis-use by the driver(s).

Missus has hijacked my account, she wanted to post this....
I spend half my working life driving a van. I wear magnums. We have these clever things called seat adjusters. I'm 5ft 9. I have been driving for 10 years. I am a qualified advanced and emergency response driver.
I have never had a problem with a clutch in either my van or any car I have owned. I wonder why....
