Default Anyone thinking of binning Bridgestone Re40s..

should do it as soon as they can.....only had my scoob a month but i've done 1200 miles on em and hated em....the tramlining and wet weather grip is shocking...got a full set of Eagle F1's today and it has totally transformed the car...been out and about most of the day...bout 100 miles and they are superb...was told to take it easy for the first 40 or so miles ..but after that i've been playing... ... Now i'm really struggling to do anything other than go out in it...bless it....oh and we got Optimax today !!!!!! (Kent)

Couldn't agree more had my Scoob (ex demo with 7000 miles on) for 2 weeks and had it off the road luckily with no damage due to the poor preformance of the rubber. Am thinking of replacing them with Perilli P Zero Nero's as had these on my 2004 Celica T-Sport and they were like velcro, does anyone out there run a MY05 WRX on these if so what they like?

The P-Zero Nero's really aren't that good. Well not on a WR1 anyway. Most people have either gone for the F1's or the Toyo's.

I found the RE040's to be quite good when new but the handling went at an alarming rate as the tyres wore down.

I had Bridgestones on my 04 WRX, and nearly lost the backend a few times going in a straight line, I had no other choice but to replace the stock 17s with a set of 18s and some decent tyres.

Have Toyo Proxes on at the moment which need changing and they are a really good all round tyre, and I will be replacing them with Toyo's again, unless someone can recommend a better tyre.

RE040s very scary tyres!!! Glad u find the F1s much better. Getting mine next weekend hopefully so will at last be able to drive scoob with predicatable handling!!! Bridgestones are getting worse. Even pulling off roundabout at slightest angle on full power provokes oversteer whereas my F1s would have stuck in there and only slid when I wanted them too via a flick of steering.

A lot of people recommend Eagle F1's, Has anyone had experiences with Toyo's and F1's, and what do you think was better.
