How To Re-Discover Your Scoob
#1
Easy,
Take a two week holiday on a sunny Balearic island.
Hire a Fiat Punto 1.0 and spend six days driving four adults around with the air con on full blast, (reducing the power to AA battery output level).
Return from said holiday and immediately fetch Subaru from garage and take to nearest fave road.
Hey Presto! It's just like the day you picked it up.......grinning ha ha etc etc.
It felt that quick I thought for a second it was a Cavalier.....(ouch!).
It's good to be back though. Did you miss me? Did you? Did you though?
blubs
ps Awwww, did you though?

We had a Fiat Cinqueciento when we were in Greece - except that they had sawn the top off, put some flimsy roll bar on it and called it a cabrio. This meant that it handled even worse and was flexing like nothing I've ever driven before - even at the low speeds that I risked.
I know exactly what you mean though - got back, got into the car, squeezed the throttle and went around a few bends. Like it's the first day in the car all over again....

blubs,
The Punto was so sluggish because it had to haul your fat *** round the island!
When you say it was like the first day you picked it up, do you mean it wouldn't go over 4000rpm and wasn't full of ****e and chocolate papers from your daughter?
Geezer
P.S. There is no way your car is faster than a Cavalier!
P.P.S No

Guys
How about.....fall off a ladder whilst painting the house last week - break wrist - Scoob sitting in garage, new coat of polish, full tank, and nowhere to go!!!
Looking forward to rediscovering it.....whenever that may be.

This strikes chord with me. I've just bought a Fiesta (1.1) for company business.
I smile constantly when I'm driving it knowing what a bag of poo it is and how likely I am to die if I crash in it (work
that out).
Then back to the Imp at the weekend (or whenever) and my smile gets wider!!
Thank You Ford!
Jason

Me and the Boss had a Focus for a long weekend when we went out to Malta last month.
Warning - If you are offered a green Maltese 1.4 Focus, don't buy it! I think the hand-brake turns and constant red-lining of the may have had a negative effect on the life of the tyres and engine.
Chris.

Emu! RATFLMAO
I do not even slightly resemble Emu, nor do I walk round all day with my husbands arm up my backside.
From the Chauffeur - oh and by the way it's my scooby that is being used all the time, his gets to stay in the garage all day doh!

Tend not to use PTMW! during the week ($hit economy compared to our diesel Vectra) but last Saturday had to drive it to Coventry for a meeting.
Oh! What Joy! I had forgotten what effortless acceleration & superlative handling PTMW! has I really had to to strugle to keep the speed down, 'cept coming out of roundabouts
Got to my meeting at a Poste House & there were 2 other DGM scoobs in the car-park, 1 a Very Low (& muddy) '96/7 5dr - the other a 4.
On the way back, it rained & I went via Northampton & down the A45 (read Lots Of Roundabouts ) & try as I might (& I was trying where safe) I could not lose the front end under power In fact, I could not get PTMW! to lose grip at all! There were a few minor scalpings on the way...
What fun - what joy - what a car
Made a boring meeting day a good day out

I'll rediscover mine when SUL gets below a dollar per litre over here again
It's been that long I'll have to roll start the thing coz of the flat battery and to free up the pistons that have probably seized in the bores........

Update on the broken wrist (which still in plaster).....
Ins co ok for me to drive providing safe to do so....HEE HEE they haven't watched me with TWO working wrists (AHEM scuse dodgy connotations I mean driving).
Hospital passed buck on to DVLA.
DVLA (when I finally got past numbered options on dialling and got to speak to a startled voice who answered straight away and obviously not used to anybody getting past the dead end menus) - not bothered.
So, went for a test drive this morning (took Carolyn's Scoob cos mine is safely locked in the garage, clean and polished, and it was raining!!)and all ok. Looks like i'm back on the road after two weeks not driving
