PPP Price drop?
I have tried to do a search on this, but have had no joy in getting the search facility to work!
Has the price of PPP for an STI dropped to £1400 (prev £1995)??

Doe's that mean phoning around local dealers to get a deal?
Anyone in the greater London area had any joy from a local dealer? All I seem to get from my local dealer is a load of ballsh*t and absolutely no movement on price!
Any dealers out there who care to offer their services???

This is what pis*es me off with Subaru dealers, they just charge what they like! I would like to think that if I paid £X amount then it was fixed and not left at the mercy of dealers (tw*ts).
Can't see one of the MAJOR car companies putting up with this cr*p, with their dealers!
I just want my PPP for a reasonable price (especially if they are trying to get rid of old stock) without having to play silly bug*ers negotiating a deal!

I think the really cheap prices are only being offered in conjunction with a new car, I got PPP for a STi for £1300 but was buying a new 05 MY car at the same time.

Olympian in Poole where doing ppp for £950 back in November, someone else on here was also saying Doncaster Subaru were also offering it for about £1200. Just keep ringing round and be prepared to travel, thats what I did. It's worth paying 1k but deffo no more.

BTW - my dealer has told me that Prodrive now need them to send your original ECU back to them in order to map it - meaning your car is going to be out of commision for upto a week...ie don't do this on a Friday cos then you'll lose a weekend too!

It's certainly not to my liking - it means they have my car for a week instead of 3 hours - this is a long established subaru dealer as well...they used to be able to have one and swap it but now they're no longer allowed to do it that way - and they can only fit em to registered cars...really a pain in the **** for all concerned..

Ecutek re-mapped ECU is cheaper. If your car is out of warranty go that way. I run a WRX 01 Bugeye with standard cats, HKS Hybrid Panel Filter, WR Sport BB and get 262.5 BHP and 343 Nm.
Powerstation did a group buy a few weeks back £500 +Vat with a 3 port boost controller. You get the car individually mapped, Rolling Road set up and not a "one size fits all" service a la PPP.
Rich, Dirk and the lads are a top bunch too, Litchfields is also next door!!! Best set-up I've seen in a while.

How much you paying for it? Ring round and dont pay over 1k (WRX) and 1400 (STI) I say.

Then you turn up and they fit it and send your old ECU back, they get charged a massive surcharge if they dont return your old ECU. There is no chance I would leave my car with them for a week. It's totally unecessary and an inconvenience.

mmh..so why the fr*g is my dealer p*ssing me about like this - it's a brand new car WRX300 and the PPP is included as part of the car. They are a reputable dealer and I just find the whole thing hard to believe - but I can't see why they'd want my car hanging round for a week unless they had no other choice...

I just don't understand - my local dealer is Chapmans at Pickering - they've been doing this for years - so why do they have this problem and others don't ?
