Looks like a pre 97 ecu with the "SCOOBYECU " piggy back board added. The wires are probably soldered across Resistor j1, to give switcheable maps..

more info here.. http://www.scoobyecu.co.uk/

Have you recently bought that from ebay?

Just wondered as I saw a very similar item for sale. I think it's a genuine scoobyecu as it is written on the circuit board, but you never know.

I think it's the VOS chips that illuminate the check engine light as they use a base map for the Legacy.

Might be worth a go. I've just read through the add it seems genuine (I accept no responsilitity for the information being incorrect if you buy it! )

I know that whenever Scott.T sells these on ebay they seem to go for £250-£300 so it might be a bargain!

I think Scott.T said something about being able to re-map the chips. Not sure of the cost but obviously it will have to be sent away.

There was a thread about this a little while ago in the general technical section.

those 2 black wires out the top of the board.... are they connected to the j1 resistor so its allowing to have a switch to turn the extra chip on and off?

I assume so. I've heard a few people doing that. One position for standard boost and then another for scoobyecu boost. I wouldn't bother personally but each to their own!

I see you won it then!

Yeh, I put in a cheeky bid. If I got it great, if I didn't, oh well.

I've just bought another one actually!!

That's a scoobyECU adaptor and judging by the letters PMB on the label, I would think it was mapped by Paul Blamire (Zen Performance).

Yes it is re-mappable, and Paul always used to use EE devices which are erased on the programmer rather then having to spend 30 mins under a UV eraser.

Pauls maps are normally pretty good though.....
