Hi folks

Im currently in the middle of a theft claim for my MY96 WRX and am having a really hard time getting my insurance copmany to pay out anywhere near a sensible offer. I have already declined their first offer which they will not re-consider without documentary evidence of the values im looking for. I have spoken to a freind in the legal profession and he has advised me to get a short written evaluation for vehicles of the same style, age etc. I already have one from my local dealer/garage but could do with one from an independent source. Going by the latest CAP Used Grey Import Values book a car like mine is valued for retail at £5825 based on a mieage of 60k. Mine had around 10k less than this and Ive been offered nearly half from the insurance.

just had similar problem. car total loss and TESCO not paying what it was worth. after 1500000 phonecalls and letters(that got lost) and a tiny bit of stress i gave in. there was a similar recent thread and advice given was to contact the ombudsman(or atleast threaten ins co with them). i didnt.i had lost heart. imo the ombudsman would have done jack, they all **** in the same pot.
