Default Stolen car hits parked van

Just sat at home watching a film with a mate and his girlfreind phoned saying

'you better come home, someone has hit the van'

so we jumped into the car and rushed round to his seeing flashing blue lights and the fire brigade putting a corsa out. hmm, look at the van and all we can see is a broken window and some car parts strewn about everywhere.
walk round to the front to see a concrete bollard stuck out of the front bumper, WTF! seems the stolen corsa has come up the road at a fair speed and taken the bollard clean off and it's flown a good 6 foot before the radiator sprung a leak. trouble is, what do you do? anyone an idea? who do you claim off if TPFT? it's an 03 reg transit connect and his work horse.

Everyone except the old bill that where there when they arrived

When I moved into London, My insurance went up nearly £400. The broker reckoned a small percentage was for the increase in theft possibility. But most of it was because the area's near me had a high percentage of uninsured drivers. The chance of them hitting me was higher, so I had to put more into this pot. Seems I was paying their insurance for them.

Make sure your mate makes a claim asap.

For a Motor Insurance Bureau claim you have to know who did it; did the Police arrest the Corsa driver? You may be able to claim against the Corsa's insurance too..... (remember when the Police started claiming against the policies of stolen cars, that crashed into them during pursuits?).
