Wink Value of MY53 STI

Guys

Decided it is time to sell MY 53STI - but the guide prices seem to be all over the place.

In true Scoobynet fashion - what do you think she is worth?

53STI in blue (Nov 2003)
FSSH with 42'000 miles
PPP fitted in July 2005 along with the Prodrive suspension pack.
Rear tints fitted (not blacked out)
In very good condition
Only one owner - me.

I was thinking around the 14'500 to 15'000 mark selling private?

Ronny.

Good luck.

15k is about right, though you would need to check out something like parkers ( www.parkers.co.uk ) and see what sort of valuation they give to give you a better idea

Cheers guys

The only thing with Parkers is that it does not allow for PPP+suspension pack.

Its valued at just under £14'000 with 20'000miles.

Hence my quick calcs.

£13'500 with milage deduction?
£1'000 to £1'500 for extras?

£14'500 to £15'000

I am dreaming.........

Glasses guide gives a bit of a shock although it does not allow for the PPP. Imho if you get 13k you have done well in the current market!

Just had a lOOk on the 'trader web site. Non with same sort of spec/details. But similar ones are around the £14,500 mark. So i think your about right there. Don't listen to scare mongers about price plumit etc...

We can all speculate .... the market will tell you its worth.

I suggest pricing it at £14,495 and see what comes in?

Face the fact that there are many more cars out there than buyers ....... and, that your 'extras' are worth diddly.

I wouldn't say that.

The tints and springs might not increase the value to most, but the PPP will. Even guides show prices for STi and STi (Prodrive). Not close to the money paid for it, granted, but not squat.

Glasses guide gives trade values, so they will always be lower. As stated the best guide to use is the auto trader, as you can always see what people are selling them for (or asking at least )

Remember that a LOT of Insurers will not cover a car with PPP, or charge a HUGE amount for having it.

As a buyer I would take it, free, but only free.

Just my opinion ..... but I think it might be copied 100s of times around the buying public.

Hi, i don't normally comment on car prices, but you did ask. Bought 03 STI TSL 333, prodrive springs and ppf7's 45k miles for £13600 in november. I sold my 03wrx ppp with 39k miles and prodrive spoiler for £11500 yesterday. I'd say £13500 for a standard STI and £14000 for yours.

pete do you get pleasure from being negative all the time
from a subaru dealer your car would be worth about £15,500 mate, but that includes the warranty, so £14-15,000 sounds about right

I wish you good luck - in my own experience if you try and sell private and the price is too high you get erosion - you keep having to reduce and then you end up with a lot less than you wanted to start with.

Go for a hard price straight away and it will sell straight off the bat.

Are those prices on Trader you refer to Trade retail - you can knock at least £1,500 off them for a private sale in this market. The dealers are either discounting or giving rich trade in values against specific cars or doing finance deals which you cannot offer.

Give it two weeks - then go for a big price cut.

I have just sold an 03 wrx through the autotrader web site, its £15 for two weeks and always gets a sale if the price is right. I sold mine for £11500.
