Problems selling a Subaru
Can anyone offer advice on selling a impreza?
Has anyone else had similar difficulties?
I have been trying to sell my car for a year now, ive had a few calls but no one actually turn up to view which I find really strange. Im sure the first serious buyer to view the car will take it away.
Brief details of Car
Subaru Impreza WRX 2001(51) totally standard UK car, Silver
Full Subaru service history, fully maintained under warranty, hence in immaculate condition, 47000 miles.

I think what Brun was saying is, simply, the price is too high - whatever that price is.
If the price was right, it would have sold ..... there are few buyers, but buyers can be tempted by the right price.
It is ALWAYS about price!

Well, its a sensible price by the looks of it ....... ring up some others for sale and see if they have been sold.
The buyers can simply just not be out there ... you have been trying for a year, this can be a problem in itself - people looking think something is wrong with it!

First of all, the first place people tend to look for these cars is autotrader. Exchange and Mart is perhaps a bit low budget to get the real people likely to buy this car. Also, include a picture of it, it allows people to see the car that they are reading about. If I am looking at an without a pic it puts me off as it makes me think that if they don't want to spend the money for adding a pic, what have they not spent money on in the car. just my 2c.

I have had photo adverts, its just the photo has expired on the E&M advert.
I spoke to my local Subaru garage and they suggested putting the price up, otherwise people might think theres a problem with it .
I started advertising the car Oct 2004 at £12,000 and all I seem to do is keep dropping the price! cant win !!! It doesnt seem worth selling the car much cheaper. Its a fab car and all I want is a fair price. Im not gonna give it away

If you car hangs around for sale and does not shift - you need to get it off the market for a while and then go in with a price at the next level down. If you drop the price bit by bit, week by week then you will not get buyers or you will get silly offers.
Get it off the market and go back in a month at £7250

Placing and ad on the auto trader site should also allow you to put up more than 1 pic so take advantage of this.
Loot.com used to offer free ads and 1 pic on the site too!!
If it has full Subaru history include that too.
Hope this helps

12k was way too high - dealers could not sell them at that price with warranties
People have watched the price track down and so it has stuck
Take it off the market and re-advertise it in Top Marques in a month with a big advert and a picture and make sure it is the cheapest for its year and mileage that week - it will sell then.

The dealer who says put it on at a higher price - how much will THEY give you CASH?? Tell them to back their mouth with their money!! I'm guessing they would offer you something like £6k!!
So much for their advice! Mind you, whack it on for £9995 and see what happens?
