You might be finding it hard to shift cos your price may be too high. Remember there is the 172 cup,182, 182 cup, and 182 Trophy to chose from. Your standard 172 being the slowest.
Also, having owned a 172 myself, my personal opinion of them are that there Sh*te. Build quality is a joke, it understeers like mad, and to be honest, I didn't think they were that fast.
Couldn't wait to get rid of mine. LIke you, I traded in with a dealer (Ford)

Plus Renault dealers are the worst I've ever come across, and others I've spoken to say the same. That would put a few off owning one.

Mileage seems to be worth crap these days. Yours may have done 7200 or 17,200, they still you'd have offered you the same price.
I seem to remember a time that for every 1000 mile below average yearly milage (12000) it would be worth £100 more per 100 mile. Not now

Both times when I traded in my Clio 172, and my Focus RS. They gave me a price even before asking the mileage.

Rip-off merchant's the lot of them.

Traded the wifes X plate 172 Mk1 in, 3 owners, 50k on the clock, got £5k for it which was pretty good, gotta say the garage didnt even bother so much as a sit in it and just had a quick glance at it in the rain!

Really could not be bothered with the trauma of a private sale...
