Do Servicing costs differ for UK and Euro Imports?
As above, does anyone know if there is an increase in costs for servicing a Euro Impreza?

Your 1000 mile service should cost around £120 - £130.
Service intervals are slightly different but as near as makes no difference. Instead of every 10,000 miles for a UK car, the second is at 9,000 miles the third at 19,000 miles fourth at 28,000 miles and so on.

IIRC, they use a "running in oil", which promotes components bedding in. That's another part of the reason that you should be fairly gentle with the car until after the 1k service.

That'd be great thanks, I'll PM you it's from one of those, not sure which as yet to place the order, do you happen to have an idea of the implications of re-sale, lower price etc?

Nope, exact same car...indeed i had a mate in the industry run mine through the books, Chassis number and all, and there is nothing there at all to say it is anything other than a UK car.

^ The source of the car is logged on the Subaru system, they will therefore know which country it was supplied through (Cyprus, Malta or wherever). IIRC the service book will also have the source dealer stamped in it who did the PDI.

£120 - £130 is scandalous, Shouldnt have to pay more than £70 and that more than its worth anyway
I agree it is not cheap, but it is the going rate. Quotes from squealers were more!

Did the 1000 mile service myself without jeopardising the warranty - it's only an engine oil and filter change - check the brake fluid, check the brake discs and pads, check all the lights are working and check the tyre pressures. Cost me £26.
10,000 mile / annual service carried out in December included annual rust proof check up - done at Ian Grieve Subaru dealer in Falkirk for £ 135.

I was quoted £174 for a 10k service from R.N.Golden in Yorkshire as a private individual but I can get it for approx £150 if I book it with them through work. Still might just do them myself, would probably use better oil and I know it's done right then too (Block Exemption is good for some things )...

EU cars are undersealed it's just that when they come to the UK via IM they have a bit more added (Mine had it down centre of underside but not out to the edges or under wheel arches). Main dealer pointed it out to me at first 1k service (oil change £95 iirc) so they topped it up to uk spec for £40..
Worth checking but not real problem.

Euro import first service about £120 (including oil change which isn't strictly speaking required ) next service due at 9000 miles probably similar to UK 10000 mile service I think it will be in service booklet

I have it direct from Subaru Europe in writing that the 12 yr anti perforation warranty is just as valid as the 3yr / 60,000 mile part of the warranty - mine was from Malta but see no reason why it should be any different. My warranty is direct with Subaru Malta - all they ask is that I get the annual inspections done at an authorised Subaru UK dealer and get the service book stamped and that's it !

I'd say it's about the only part of the 1k service that is genuinely worth doing.
You would think they would get you to change the oil sooner if it was different to try and avoid any potential warranty claims due to "thick" oil being used for too long.

Only going by cyprus service book not sure what oil was used originally but to be honest my previous cars(peugeot's) didn't need oil changes at 1000 miles so makes you wonder if UK ones really need an oil change at 1000
