Question Is there any tuning/mapping tips for £300 for car under warranty?

After reading this great thread <http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=466636>
I have been thinking of maybe spending around £300 or so on a tune up etc on my car.
My car is still under Subaru UK warranty at the moment and if I am honest I don't think I ever get the chance to put my foot down enough around here. So a huge upgrade at the mo is not worth it but I would like that extra bit of torque and response.

I have some questions that maybe some nice souls would be happy to answer for me.

Based on a my01 WRX with standard engine apart from a Sti Panel filter.

1) Will having some form of tune up validate my warranty? ie changing boost from 13psi to 16psi for example etc?

2) What can I expect from around the £300 (I know it won't be much) in terms of extra BHP and throttle response?.

3) Does anyone know if any of the approved tuning companies can accommodate my requirements?

I live near Heathrow btw.

Any help on the above would be great.
Cheers for your time

Steve

TBH i don't think you will get a re-map for that price. Your first map needs the licence and this is what costs the money. First mod that i put on mine was front and rear struts and that improved the handling no end and cheap to.
All the best. Oh by the way once you start you'll not be able to stop

Make the available power more usable with suspension and brake mods. Whiteline 22m rear adjustable ARB and solid links along with braided hoses, DOT5.1 fluid and Ferodo DS2000 pads could be done for under £300.

For £300 if you want to do engine mods, you'd be better to change the up and/or down pipe in the exhaust - will give some more response and some more power. However, that and/or suspension or break mods would potentially invalidate your warranty, depending on how "understanding" the dealer is.

To get an ECUTEK remap (which isn't easy to detect, so is fairly warranty safe) would cost double what you're talking about, perhaps a little more. Go to the right person and any susbequent remaps (should you want them) will be a lot cheaper in the future
