PPP how can you tell?
Currently looking for a new car
Choices are
Mitsubushi Evo7/8 FQ300
Scoob STi 8 PPP
I want both to be standard spec
How do I tell if an STi has PPP fitted any was it when it was new or after (big differance in insurance quotes).
Does the log book have PPP on it? of do I have to look for bills?
Cheers for the help
I would try searching but google comes up with about 1000000 hits LOL

If you wanted to you could try and buy the alleged PPP'd vehicle without a cert at a non-PPP price...you never know.
NEVER just take someone's word that it has been PPP'd just cos u can see a single exhaust and a blue hose or two

The Impreza WRX STi Performance Package has been designed to deliver class leading performance, boosting torque by up to 30% and extending its availability across a wider rev range than the standard engine.
The improved performance is produced through a carefully developed combination of matched exhaust and engine management modifications. This combination of enhancements boost peak power to 305ps@6,000rpm and deliver an impressive 405nm of torque at 4,000rpm, an improvement of 16% on the standard car. All WRX STi Prodrive Performance Packs come with a Certificate of Fitment

Mine had ppp fitted from about 1500 miles by the original owner, with certificate to prove it. Note on that prodrive info you found the recommendation to fit 18" wheels, preferably prodrives of course
Good luck with you hunt andy, and give us a shout if you need a test drive

My new WRX PPP MY05 didn't come with a cert (Has the tailpipe and Blue hose ), but I didn't pay a PPP Premium (PPPP!) for the car either.
A work mate of mine used to work for ProDrive and has offered to contact them for me to get a Cert (They were a bit busy last week, what with the Rally etc) so he is gonna call them this week.

Phoned ProDrive and Subaru today, the PPP kits was fitted when car was new (They had an offer of free PPP or Servicing at the time). I put a letter in the post requesting a new cert, they said it wasn't a problem.
So Andy S, maybe you could do the same, they seem to keep quite good records of fitment etc...

17s or 18s
Just bought a MY04 sti with the PPP fitted, previous owner had it done at 1000mls service and certificate to prove it.
the car has the standard 17s fitted and subaru recommend that you have 18s?
will this make any difference apart from the weight of my wallet
