Unfortunatley the search facility is down.
The MAF will get incorrect readings with the APS and the car will run lean as a result. Running lean can lead to engine failure.
Speak to Harvey (had an engine failure as a result of APS), or a respected mapper such as AndyF or Bob Rawle.

Out of interest is there anywhere any actual factual information of this kind of kit doing anything at all to standard or lightly modded cars. When I say doing anything I mean improving power?
My only experience is having mine removed when the car was mapped as it was actually increasing the inlet temperature and reducing power. It was taken off, replaced with a green panel filter and the temp went down by 14 degrees (from memory).
Is it just another, you must have one of these mods which does nothing except make a noise and potentially cause problems?

I have the APS CAK fitted to my MY00 and you do need a remap once you fit it I had mine remapped by Bob Rawle.
I would get a few more mods if I was you before getting it remapped considering it will cost you 650 quid +vat for a remap, seems a major outlay just to get an induction kit fitted.
I only fitted one as I will be getting an FMIC in the near future and you can't use the OEM airbox, also this one came up cheep

I think it is great, it is tucked away in the wing out the way and not in the engine bay taking up space and sucking in hot air. Dead easy to fit and looks pretty good.

i thought you would be lucky to get 10bhp from an induction kit but again you would need remap and unless you compare same car with map vs same car with map and induction kit you will not know the difference as there can be variation between identical cars eg sti ppp can vary from 285-305bhp for newage cars.you are tempting fate with induction kit with no remap though,£650 vs engine rebuild!

I bolted an induction kit (apparently group A) to my classic, which was already had exhaust and map. Drove to Newquay and the engine popped, cost me £4000 to rebuild. Everything was fine before the induction kit.
So if so someone is commenting on getting a remap before driving around, i'd go for that option. Unless you've thousands under the mattress, just in case.

what exactly would you remap for out of interest, i.e. what would the mapper change for the induction kit. Any mappers on today or anyone more knowledgable then japanese performance readers?

As already stated above, the APS standard size 63mm induction kit for the new age cars is okay without a remap. On standard cars which run very rich it will lean out the AFR a little, which is where some of that extra power can come from. The APS cold air kit for the 99/00 is definitely a remap only job.
