Default 1000 Mile Service?

First off apologies if this has been covered before but I couldn't find anything related to it.

Well after running in my car its got to go back to the dealer for its 1000 mile service. Now I was told by the dealer that this would be a 'free' service when I brought the car, however now that I have booked it in I'm being told that everything is chargeable on it. I 've had a look around and there doesn't seem to be anything on Subaru's official website covering this.

Can anyone shed some light on the official line on this. Its a WRX 300 if that makes any difference.

If I remember rightly, when mine was done, the labour was free but I was charged for the materials. I think! Not completely free as they lead you to believe!

They SHOULD charge you about £70 for the oil and the filter used.

I think that the labour used to be free, leaving just the parts chargeable.

I'm sure someone will correct me if it's changed!

Mine was totally free. Was supposedly done when I had the PPP fitted.
They never stamped the log book (only noticed a couple months ago) so they might not even have done it.

When i bought my classic it was supposed to have full history but the last 2 service stamps were missing - i phoned the subaru garage down in Worcester where previous services were done and they confirmed they had been done by their computer records - sent book away and they stamped it up to date for me. Get on to the garage they prob just forgot.

Thanks for the replies it looks like they are taking the **** to be frank and trying to charge for everything. I feel an arguement is brewing tomorrow when I collect it.

Yes I have and yes I did post in the other thread about optional PPP. Mind you its a nightmare talking to people about the car:

Me: Its a WRX 300
Them: Oh a WRX UK300?
Me: No just a 300
Them: A 300 what's that.
Me: (Pointing) One of those.

Had my free 1000 mile service done last week - now about £50 lighter - seems they forget to tell you you have to pay for the materials - thought i would get 10% discount with SIDC membership - that didnt applied to the Oil which was most of the cost - save myself 54p in the end though .....

What dealer told you that?

Some dealers do have restrictions on the discount but I am not aware of THAT restriction
