Is your steering wheel straight...
Just a general question, how many steering wheels are straight... what I mean is...
When driving forward only in a stratight line, my steering wheel is slightly turnd towards the right / placed / fixed about 10 degrees... and not straight... as if it were turned to sit straight, it would bear left slightly...
Is this a problem... Is this common...

Mine was like it when I bought it and it isn't a "problem" but it did used to bug me.
Take it to a place that does wheel alignment and they'll sort it, no problems. It'll set you back about £50 but it's well worth it because the handling and steering will feel much more direct, (and you'll have a centered steering wheel )

An offset steering wheel is certainly not a 'feature' of an Impreza
... however, they do tend to follow the camber in the road and you compensate for this, which may mean your wheel is turned slightly right on a lot of road surfaces..

no doubt any of the previous suggestions may sort your cars problem, however,my o2 wrx had the same problem, subaru said it was fine and wouldnt remedy it. i took it to a specialist in lazer alignment that highlited a manufacturing problem. cant remember the exact cause but it was the r/n/s lower lug that fixed the strut to the hub, which needed a bit of fettling.
all sorted now

It's been interesting so far reading all the comments and suggestions which I appreciate...
It really isn't a 'problem' as such... but just seems odd and doesn't look right...
It drives and steers fine...

I bought a brand new MR FQ 320 and the wheel wasn't straight. This infuriated me - 30K for a car, one of whom's main attributes is the 'supposed' fantastic steering. Well after 5 attempts Phoenix Mitsubishi (Paisley) admitted they couldn't fix it (Hence no qualms about naming the supplier).
The car was otherwise fantastic but this Mitsubishi dealer was just so used to dealing with the trivial worries of Shogun (etc.) owners that when I complained, they were shown up as the non-specialist that they are (what should I expect I hear you say..?)
After my feeble threats of vehicle rejection and the eventual fitment of a new rack, the car was finally fixed - the final diagnosis was that there was nothing wrong with the rack but that the wheel hadn't been put on straight at the factory. Words cannot describe my annoyance at this.
I have since heard that a £47K FQ400, similarly slipped through Ralliart who upgrade the FQ's, especially the 400, passed through the PDI and was supplied to it's owner with is wheel at '2 O'clock' driving straight ahead.
This isn't meant as an anti-mitsi post, I loved that car in spite of this glaring fault - I just suspect that a similar problem would never have got past my previous Subaru dealer.
Get it fixed - if the car has recently been supplied to you, new or not, it should be sorted FOC.
Good luck,
Steve.

My WRX PPP's wheel is spot on straight...I put it down to me being a bit of a perfectionist with the Geometry Equipment at work though
It does take a bit of fiddling with, but is worth it imho...

Thus just shows how it can a) come from the factory like that and b) not be picked up by the dealer when doing a PDI.
