Are you within your rights to get the damaged parts back off your car ei-bonnet,bumper when its getting repaired by a garage through insurance or am i just gonna be doing this ?
I can at least try and get some of my £500 excess back.
Its just the bonnet has hardly any damage (worth a few quid) and can be repaired but as you well no they just buy new from dealer and also spot light and light cluster.

I think that if they pay to replace parts the damaged ones then belong to the insurance company.

You should not be better off after a claim, you can either have your old parts repaired or new parts but not both. You could also ask to buy the parts of them, it can work with cars - not sure about parts.
