Default Does anyone know of any Subaru specialists in South Wales?

I've got a '99 Impreza Turbo which up until now has always been serviced by the main dealer. I've just been quoted over £600 for a 7 year / 90,000 service as they change the cam belt as part of the service. The thing is the car's only done 30,000 miles, but the dealer said they would still change the belt as it can perish after 7 years. So two questions really. Does anyone know of a good specialist in or around South Wales who could maybe do it cheaper than the main dealer? Has anyone had a cam belt snap after only 30,000 miles? Cheers.

Dai what part of south wales are you in ??

It may pay you to scroll down to the regional section at the bottom of the main page and ask this question in the Welsh section also we do have regular meets if you wanted to come alone and the guys will be able to give you some good pointers on quite a few different areas of the car.

Hi Mate,

CVC in Cardiff are a main dealer and will/have probably given you the same advice.

You could try Powerstation in Tewkesbury which is about an hour from Cardiff.

They are similar in price for servicing as a main dealer but they should give you an honest opinion about whether it needs changing, loads of the guys on here use them for mods/warranty/servicing work.

Cheers fellas. I'll try the Welsh section. I'm new to this site so didn't spot that one.
I'm near Blackwood about 20 miles North of Cardiff. The car was originally from CVC but I used to get it serviced in Keith Price because I used to work around the Abergavenny area quite alot.
I'm sure someone once told me there was a Subaru specialist in Pontypool but I can't remember what they were called. I might be wrong though.
