Default Unlocking Problems

Hi,

For some reason, last week the fob for my Impreza MY02 stopped working, but....only when its parked on my drive. I can lock the car using the 'old' manual way, but cannot arm the alarm and immoboliser. Thw strangest thing is that when I lock the car away down the side of the house, into the car port the 'blipper' works fine and seems to work everywhere but on the drive, in front of the house.

It gets weirder.... My mother in law turned up with her MY03 XTrail and parked on the drive, her fob wouldn't work, then my sister in law turned up in her scenic and has the same problem.

Any ideas what could be blocking the signal? We've lived her for nearly 2 years and have only noticed this problem in the last week . No mbl phone masts near us.

Thanks in advance

Will

Do you live near a phone mast?
These alarms have a problem with shielding. Checkout the security section and ask there.http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=16

The same thing happens to me, my fob works fine everywhere except on the top floor of one particular multi story car park, it just will not work no matter how many times I try, in the end I had to use the security code to start the car.........I've never parked there again! It feels like something/one is jamming the signal from the fob so they can then nick your car!

Happens to me at my local hospital (big phone mast) and also once I went to Walton on the Naze, parked next to the world's biggest phone mast and ended up calling the AA to tow me half a mile down the road.

If I was anywhere near a phone mastI would understand, but my drive is nowhere near a mast, at least within 1.5 miles of the nearest. Just wondering if a neighbour setup a CB or something similar, would that effect it?
