I,m looking to change my Re070s but dont know what to go for, any help would be much appreciated, i`ve just had a puncture repair and been advised that new tyres are needed because it looks like the tracking is out, 2005 WRX STI TYPE UK , done 7,500 miles and i`m not impressed.

I had the same thing with my tracking, i also have a 05 sti, i when back to the dealer and they did the tracking and give me 2 new tyres. because at the end of the day the tracking should be checked by the dealer on the PDI before you pick the car up.

Trackings nearly always out on a new subaru, they sort of forget to do it, though you shouldnt repair an RE070, even for a puncture, they should be replaced because of the speed rating.

What part of the country are you in ?
There are some good places about.... one of the guys will then be able to point you in the right direction.

As Tony has said tracking is shocking I lost a set of fronts on my old sport in 6k then when I swapped front to back all 4 were gone in 10k, then I discovered correct alignment and what a different world that is.

So if you had just put some new RE070,s on your car Tony and you had a puncture would you go and buy a new tyre instead of having the puncture repaired

I'm using Toyo proxies T1R's and finding them a fantastic tyre. Very grippy in the dry and almost as good in the wet.

Thanks for the replys, I,m up in lancashire nr blackburn so i`m looking at four new tyres and getting the tracking done, anybody know of any good garages around here.
I didn`t know you shouldn`t repair a puncture, what if the tyre was only on 100 miles, i would be mighty miffed about buyin a new tyre.

The only reason you need to buy a new tyre if one of these is punctured is because your not suppose to repair any tyre above a H rating for safety purposes.

I would replace them too on such a powerful car, when your blatting along a back road do you realy want a repaired tyre. After all its the only thing in contact with the road!!!!

I would never consider repairing a tyre - ever.

The consequences of a repaired tyre failing on a high performance car doesn't bear thinking about, when were all truly honest about how we drive sometimes.

Most 17" tyres are less than £100 anyway, which is cheap relative to having paid £25k for a car.
