Main dealer woes...A.F.Noble....
Anyone else had issues with A.F.Noble the Subaru agent in Penicuik, Edinburgh?
I went in to have a bulb replaced in the centre console, one of the ones behind the heater panel. I asked them to change all the bulbs while they were in there, as that only makes sense. However, they managed to blow the bulbs in the headlight leveling switch when they were about it, and the other bulb in the heater panel blew after a day. That was visit ONE.
On visit TWO to rectify the stuff up they made in visit ONE they didn't fix the headlight level switch but instead changed the bulbs behind the engine temp and petrol level dials - these, as we all know, are nowhere near the centre console, they're in the speedo cluster! They fitted ultra-bright bulbs so those dials now illuminate twice the brightness of the speed and rev dials. Bloody eck! They did get the bulbs in the heater panel working though, but forgot about the headlight level switch bulbs!
So visit THREE. They eventually managed to get the headlight level bulbs working again, but they changed the bulbs in the temp and petrol gauges to dimmer ones in an attempt to match the speed and rev dials, but they're still far far brighter.
So visit FOUR looms. Will they manage to change the right bulbs? Will they get the right wattage? Will they even be the right colour? Who ever knows. What a bunch of cowboys. I could have (and should have) done it all myself in 1/2 hour!
Anyone else had issues with them?
Any recommendations for better dealers near Edinburgh?

Mate,
Had my scoob serviced by them for 4 years with no problems whatsoever, always helpful and not to costly either, also solved my ECL in one visit while all other dealers where i work(in england) was charging me a fortune in labour looking for the cure, A.F found it, fixed it(nuetral switch) and only charged me for the part, no labour as i was a customer reguarly.
Maybe a one off dodgy electrician.Think your nearest subaru dealer is over the bridge, perth, couper, also in falkirk.
There are a few good independants in Edinburgh
Ask on www.SIDC.co.uk, then link to scottish scoobies forum
Hope this helps.

Update. (Remember we're only talking flipping interior BULBs here!!!).
Visit FOUR:
They changed the temp and fuel guage bulbs, but they're still not a match for the rev and speed gauges - still too bright. So booked another visit.
Visit FIVE:
I turned up as appointed and they said there was no booking for me. No as much as an apology. Getting angry now. Re-booked in for this Thursday. There is NO WAY I'll ever let these guys near my engine, if they can't even replace a bulb properly!
Let's see what visit SIX entails!

Never had any work done there so can't comment on their workmanship, but when my STI's bottom end failed right on their doorstep they sent out a flatbed to get me off the road, and kept the car in their building over christmas and new year (ended up being over 2 weeks) until I decided what I was going to do with it - all free of charge.
