Depreciation is not good at the moment, certainly on slightly older cars. I can only assume that a newer one would depreciate even faster!

I had my first one at 21 and paid £1500 for insurance, which wasnt too bad. The problem with putting it in your dad's name is that you dont build up your no claims. Im so glad I got my own insurance as now im 24 and have 6 yrs NCB so my insurance is quite cheap!

Also if (god forbid) you have an accident or something and the loss assessor comes sniffing round and finds out its your car and you drive it every day then you stand to loose the lot!

Nice car tho!!

It's a good price but - you'll be shot down in flames for going on your dads. I don't believe it will do you any favours - it gets your no claims bonus no where so your quotes will always be huge.

My brother insured his 1.9pug GTi on our dad's insurance.
Six months later he crashed it and guess what, the insurance company wouldn't pay out. Even came to the house to interview him and their reason, my brother was the main user of the car not just a named driver.
Take a chance and you could loose the lot.

If the car's going to be in YOUR name, and YOU will be the main driver, then the insturance should be YOURS. Anything else is potentially fraud !!

I'm also fairly sure that if you shopped around you could pick up a "55" for the same price.

19k seems a little high for a 04.

2k isn't bad for the insurance either, I paid £1500 for an MY01 WRX with 0 NCD's (age 31).
